Artes à Rua

One city, one stage for all arts
Actors, visual artists (from sculpture, photography, painting or performance), singers, composers, dancers, musicians and many others, totalling about 300 participants from over 12 countries, are the protagonists of the performances and artistic interventions of “Arts à Rua - Public Arts Festival”, which will take place in Évora, from 31th of July to 31th of August 2020.
This edition, strengthens the application process for Évora to the European Capital of Culture in 2027.
The new creations mark its programme, both for the invitations made to renowned artists and producers, as well as for the challenge made to young figures from the art world. As well as the option of scheduling shows for children and families, or the continuity for the preference of the enjoyment of public space.
Promoted by Évora City Council, the festival is developed in partnership with artists, creators, agents, programmers and audiences. It emerges and is materialized under a narrative of tolerance, peace and interculturality, resulting from the autarchy’s reading of the arts: as a way of emancipating citizens and enhancing creativity and all expressions of thought, in other words, as way of transforming society and the world.
