Balkan Contemporary Music Festival

Balkan Contemporary Music Festival (BCMF) promotes the contemporary music and is the only contemporary music festival in Albania. It's main focus are the Balkan composers since, we consider this, a very important tool of cultural integration among countries of the Balkan region. We are also open for collaboration with European musicians and do also consider performing more traditional music, if it fits a certain thematic within the festival. In this framework, during the festival days, each of the participating countries will be granted an evening to perform works by their composers as well as international renowned ones.

Each of the participating countries has the right to choose the program, emphasizing so their artistic freedom and focus. Conceived this way, the Balkan Contemporary Music Festival promotes the music of nowadays and support its longevity. Most of the concerts are held in Tirana but some of them, as agreed with the invited artists, will travel also in other cities reaching thus wider audiences. Doing so, the possibility of a real cultural exchange would be more concrete and the existence of a common cultural market more reachable.
