Multi-arts festival in venues, outdoors, and other unexpected places in and around Bath's beautiful historical and cultural city. Founded in 1982 (the current organisation dates from 1992), the festival is run by a cooperative of artists, event organisers, and audience members. Parallel visual arts & outdoor arts festivals (FAB Fringe Arts Bath and Bedlam Fair, respectively). Aside from outdoor arts and a few 'headline' events, artists are booked by venues - or by booking their own platform and putting themselves on - not by the Fringe office or committee. In recent years the Festival has generally run to 150-200 events, depending on how you count them, although 2020 and '21 were and are different...
This year we are hoping the festival will look more like it did before the pandemic, and we already know that there are a couple of exciting new additions.
