The annual international DECEMBER DANCE festival arose in 2007, out of an intense collaboration between the Concertgebouw Brugge and Cultuurcentrum Brugge. In even years DECEMBER DANCE has a geographic focus, while in odd years DECEMBER DANCE invites a leading choreographer as festival curator. They presents their own work, and spin-offs of that work, and also invites other artists and companies to perform. The 2019 edition invited Needcompany as curator.
