Festival de Música Española de Cádiz / Spanish Music Festival of Cádiz

13 Nov 2020 - 28 Nov 2020
Cádiz, Spain

The Spanish Music Festival in Cádiz is unique in its genre. It was born in 2003 with the purpose to defend, within the field of music creation, the great importance that Spanish and Andalusian composers and musicians have on the international scene. It is not casual that from the very first edition the second week of November was chosen to start the Festival, and the location, the southern city of Cádiz. The 23rd of such month is the chronological axis of the Festival, since it is the date that Manuel de Falla, the most well-known Spanish composer, was born in Cádiz. The recovery of the Spanish and Andalusian music heritage has a fundamental relevance for the Festival likewise it looks forward to the future of our current musical composition, with the premiere of many works, like those written by contemporary creators and many other performances produced nowadays, in our country and for the entire world.
