MALÁ INVENTURA FESTIVAL IN PRAGUE

Festival of new theatre Malá inventura has gained a strong position among the Czech theatre groups during 16 years of its existence. Its main purpose is to promote new theatre to both layman and professional public and to give professionals both from the Czech Republic and foreign countries a chance to view a selection of the most distinctive new theatre productions from the whole year.

Malá inventura festival is also an unrepeatable opportunity to compete with state, city and repertory theaters, which have disproportionately higher funding, and for the majority of audiences embody the "institution" of the theater at all. One of the main goals of the festival is to create a positive image of the new theatre (independent performing arts), to increase the attractiveness of the presented projects to the general public, to promote the development of free art and to intensify social life not only in Prague.

Malá invetura festival cooperates with more than 15 scenes for the contemporary theatre in Prague and regularly presents more than 50 events during 8 festival days, including more than 25 theatrical performances. The festival is almost 100% sold out and is attended by 100 professionals (programmers, directors, curators, theatre critics) from home and abroad. Current reflection and overall appreciation are brought by domestic critics and foreign media.

The festival cooperates with the most striking scenes for the contemporary theater in Prague: (Studio ALTA, Studio Hrdinů, Jatka 78, Archa Theater, Alfred ve dvoře, Meetfactory, PONEC – the dance venue, La Fabrika, Venuše ve Švehlovce, DOX +, Comedy Theater, DUP39, NoD, Cross Attic, Petrohradská) and presents the most outstanding artists and art groups in Prague: Spitfire Company, Handa Gote Research & Development, Farm in the Cave, Lenka Vagnerová, Jiří Havelka, Wariot Ideal, Continuo Theater, Miřenka Čechová, Petra Tejnorová and many others.

MALÁ INVENTURA FESTIVAL IN CZECH REGIONS
