MORADA SÓNICA

The eighth season of Morada Sónica, the International Festival of Experimental Music Art Sound, and Intermedia begins, reinventing itself in an essentially virtual format due to the demands of the situation created by the Covid 19 pandemic.
Born in Almería eight years ago, the Morada Sónica festival seeks to consolidate itself as a benchmark for experimental art, contemporary sound and audiovisual creation in Andalusia without losing its vocation for national and international projection, as evidenced by its alliances with the veteran LEM festival in Barcelona, and for the first time with the Synth Jam in Buenos Aires as well as with the cultural management platform Mediaservic Lab.
Following this process of consolidation and establishment, the organization has recently been established as a Cultural Association under the name of Experiment (At), under the direction of Josep María Soler, who has been surrounded by a large group of collaborators and advisors, among which are some of the most outstanding artists and cultural managers of our country.
Unlike previous editions in this year 2020, its programming will extend throughout a quarter, the months of October, November and December, opening its focus to host, together with sound actions, musical concerts and audiovisual broadcasts, colloquia, talks , presentations of record labels and editorials or interviews with relevant actors in the current artistic creation scene.
The pre-festival activities have started with the joint broadcast with the Argentine collective Synth Jam of a cycle of three spaces dedicated to German Kraut Rock and especially to Kraftwerk as one of its most influential groups. Also in connection with the OFF LEM festival in Barcelona, performances such as those by Laura Llaneli or Tiger Menja Zebra have already been offered.
Among other planned activities we can highlight the presentation of “Flying through time” by Eduardo Polonio, the highest representative of Spanish experimental music. Likewise, both the posthumous album by Victor Nubla, who died last March, and the new joint work by Rafael Flores and Francisco López, both released by the Wet Dreams Records label, will be presented. In the latter case, there will be the special collaboration of Marcelo Exposito.
We will also learn about the new issue of the magazine "Industrial Complexx" from the hand of those responsible and the video of Rafael Flores' concert last year at Morada Sónica will be released.
On the other hand, the performances of Susana López “Susan Drone”, the duo Crek Noarde, Occupied Head, Shak Benavides, Antony Maubert, Darwin, Javier Rey and Sergio Rodríguez have already been confirmed, with new names to be announced shortly. punctually on the new festival website www.moradasonica.com which also launches on the occasion of this 2020 edition as well as a complete restyling of its brand image.
Detailed information will also be provided through the renewed social networks Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and, especially, on the new YouTube channel where all the events can be viewed once broadcast as well as activities that have been developed throughout the seven previous seasons of the festival.
