Festival Jeunes Pousses

Organized for the first time in 2000, with the support of the city of Saulx-les-Chartreux, the Festival Jeunes Pousses has shown since the beginning the desire to highlight young contemporary creation in various artistic disciplines: theatre, dance, music, circus, puppets...

In order to make these artistic practices accessible to the greatest number of people, this free access festival has been set up since its first edition in the open air, in the streets, parks and courtyards. Over the years, more and more people have come to attend the shows offered during the weekend. The festival then becomes a major street arts event in Essonne.

The Animakt team has developed quality programming over the years, giving prominence to young companies but also to recognized artists in the street arts sector. An important part of the festival is also devoted to plastic installations and the scenography of the places, in order to create a surprising and convivial space.

Every two years the city finds itself transformed thanks to an ambitious and ephemeral staging. The Festival Jeunes Pousses is appreciated for its friendly character and welcomes spectators from all over the region every year. It is an event built thanks to the collaboration of many partners and inhabitants, volunteers and hosts, a unifying meeting in a small town resembling a village in the Paris region.

Finally, the Festival Jeunes Pousses is a participatory community project: the preparation meetings and scenography sites are open to every inhabitant from the start of the process. We invite people to join in the creation of the set design : from the reflection of the space to the manual construction of the object (giant cardboard insect, textile flower, cardboard flower etc.) In addition, many projects making up the festival are designed in collaboration with local partners.
