The 18th International Festival of the Azores returns in 2023 and reinvents itself. In search of new artistic directions, the FIA projects itself, thematically, from the Atlantic and the diaspora, through various cultural routes to the US, Brazil, and many other artistic latitudes. It will be a dialogical crossroads where the next festival will anchor; a moment when the concept of travel is highlighted and the correspondences with both sides of the oceanic and hemispheric mirror stand out.

The FIA welcomes some of the most recognised artists and groups to emblematic locations in the Azores archipelago, with concerts and shows that both explore centuries of cultural history and musical tradition and venture into the unknown land of contemporary creation. In addition to classical music, which has been the guiding thread of the FIA, this year's program is more eclectic, encompassing various languages - such as jazz, literature, and the performing arts. It will be through a comprehensive and expanded set of activities that, for about three weeks, the edition in which the FIA reaches "majority" will put the Azores at the epicentre of a great cultural celebration and reference.
