Electropixel is part of an international network of electronic arts festivals. The festival opens a singular space allowing the meeting of artists (audiovisual, musicians, visual artists, intermedia, performers, etc.), theoreticians, programmers, hackers, and inventors of all stripes and factories of everyday life. For this new edition of the festival Electropixel, we plan to deepen the relationship to the collective and to shared creation through a network of international exchanges. The festival continues to imagine and think about new methods of artistic creation during the pandemic and in particular the disintegration of the idea of common and sharing. We need to find links in creation, new ways of exploring new writings together rather than being isolated, confined, separated. How to build creations that represent multiple and delocalized collectives.

Chant des arbres (song of the trees)

For this new edition of the festival we want to discover the wealth of artistic works that exist in tune with the world and the relationship that artists have with trees. For many years, sound and intermedia artists have been listening to the inaudible sounds of our environment (rivers, trees, stars, insects, animals...) and creating new artistic forms from this relationship to listening. natural phenomena.

The aim of the festival this year is to share this experience of listening to our environment through residencies and broadcasts across the region and Europe. Artistic works that use sounds, new media and work with the relationship to the environment open the public's awareness and imagination to their interactions with so-called natural or semi-natural environments. Electropixel creates new meeting spaces between public and artists on the basis of shared experiences in several contexts.
