Danail Chirpansky International Student Theater Festival
The “Danail Chirpansky” ISTF is a bi-annual theatre festival for student performances from all over the world. It started in 2017 and takes place in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
The program includes about 20 events - theatre performances, workshops, lectures, exhibitions, discussions and concerts of young as well as professional musicians.
Each festival edition attracts over 100 participants from different countries, about 50 volunteers, a number of guests from the theater guild, as well as large audience from the city, Bulgaria and abroad. Prominent theater professionals collaborate with students and evaluate their performances.
The festival’s main goal is to form a community of young and professional artists with diverse cultural background enabling them continue to communicate and work in future artistic projects.
The festival is inspired by Danail Chirpansky - a beloved friend and a theater student, who passed away in 2016.
