The Israel Festival is Israel’s leading international interdisciplinary cultural event. The festival showcases a wide range of original dance, music and theatre productions, street shows and performance arts from around the globe and Israel. The rich artistic program features performances by iconic artists, alongside works by younger artists.

Past participants include Robert Wilson, Romeo Castellucci, Jan Fabre, Angélica Liddell, Marlene Monteiro Freitas, Xavier Le Roy, Thom Luz, Lia Rodrigues, Maurice Béjart, Alvin Ailey, Peter Brook, Daniel Barenboim, Merce Cunningham’s dance troupe, Trisha Brown Dance Company, Lucinda Childs Dance Company, Ohad Naharin, and many others. Guest artists offer seminars and professional workshops.

Many of the festival’s events and performances are open to the public free of charge. A unique platform for encounter and dialogue, the Israel Festival plays an important role in celebrating multiculturalism and advancing tolerance and understanding. The Israel Festival is committed to reducing its ecological footprint and to raising awareness to the climate crisis via relevant artistic programming. The festival hosts over 30,000 visitors from Jerusalem, Israel and from around the world. The next edition of the festival will take place 1 till 12 August 2023.
