Background:

The Kulturverein Braumeister has been organising the LiederLauchen Festival on Helmholtzplatz in Berlin for 15 years. For 3 days, top-class musicians who manage without big labels are presented in the open air. The whole thing has been celebrated since the beginning as a free & outside festival, and listening to songs brings together the very different user groups of Helmholtzplatz through music.

As fate would have it, the initiators of the festival found their way to the Theater am Rand in the Oderbruch. The idea arose to bring listening to songs to the theatre, so to speak, to bring the center to the edge.

This resulted in the LiederLauschen Labor in 2018 (an experimental biographical music format with 7 different artists from the festival) with one performance each in the Theater am Rand and the Maschinenhaus in Berlin. This is how bridge building began.

In 2019 the LiederLauscher dared to break the cultural Oderbruch and organised the first LiederLauschen am Rand with the desire to discover and bring together the cultural abundance of both countries.
