Tendance Clown #18

Tendance Clown aims to discover and popularise a genre that is still too little known and marginal: "the clown of today". Our aim is to promote the clowning arts in Marseille and to change the still too traditional representation that the public may have of them. The festival, thanks to a rich and varied programme, reflects the evolution of the discipline by expressing its different forms.

Tendance Clown is the highlight of the Daki Ling season. The theatre now focuses its energy on hosting companies in residence. All the projects it develops are centred on the burlesque and clowning worlds. It is the backbone of the festival and feeds the festival artistically.

We try to find the projects hosted in residence throughout the season at Daki Ling, at the festival, once the creation is completed. The objectives of the festival are to share with the public the different forms that characterise clowning today. The programme tends to bring together genres and colours that are totally different at first glance, but which correspond, for us, to the forms that this clown takes. With or without a red nose, with or without words, provocative or simply touching, he likes to get out of the ring to try his hand on the street or to enter theatres.
