The Seventh Wojciech Kilar Festival of Contemporary Music

The Seventh Wojciech Kilar Festival of Contemporary Music is the continuation of the artistic initiative launched in 2013 by the Gorzów Philharmonic, i.e. the Lubuskie Province’s first music festival dedicated to the popularization of the music of the 20th and 21st centuries among a vast audience of connoisseurs. Its formula and broad understanding of ‘contemporary music’ as the most representative music of our times reflecting their most important characteristics, values and needs makes it possible to present works of musical art in various contexts and to highlight their multidimensional character.

Apart from the artistic events presenting the most outstanding achievements of both Polish and world classical music of the past centuries, the festival is also a space open to innovative interdisciplinary projects combining different forms of presentation and making use of original means of artistic expression – in the areas of music, dance, and visual arts.

The artistic events of the Seventh Wojciech Kilar Festival of Contemporary Music will take place during the course of two weeks. The performances of outstanding musical pieces of the past two centuries by splendid artists and personalities, as well as the presentation of projects combining music and other disciplines at the same time and in one place will allow all participants to discover the works and to find their personal fascinations in them.

To attract the largest audience possible, the festival offers a diversified repertoire addressed to different age groups: symphonic concerts, musical projects combining traditional and modern sounds with other types of expression, chamber music, modern dance, concerts and interactive activities addressed to children, as well as music-related forms expanding the knowledge of contemporary music such as films, lectures, and exhibitions.
