60th International Chamber Festival Plovdiv
International Chamber Music Festival Plovdiv is the oldest chamber music festival in Europe and the longest-standing festival music forum with elite international and Bulgarian participation.
It is traditionally held in the picturesque atmosphere of one of the most emblematic architectural monuments in Old Plovdiv - the Ethnographic Museum. The festival was founded in 1964 by notable Bulgarian musicians with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Plovdiv and the Bulgarian Concert Directorate. The forum is an established landmark, a universally recognized and historically lasting cultural event in Plovdiv (European Capital of Culture in 2019) and in the selection of its programme are world-famous musicians and chamber ensembles as well as the newest and youngest talents of Bulgaria and Europe. The festival is organised by the Academy for Music, Dance and Fine Arts in Plovdiv and in 2024 will be its 60th anniversary edition. Which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the Academy itself.
Plovdiv is the oldest continuously inhabited city in Europe and it is a pride, honour and great responsibility to keep the festival and its programme at its best to answer the expectations and the grand tradition.
We are honoured to be your hosts.
