Balkabarna was created to make the social and cultural reality of the Balkan communities residing in Barcelona and Catalonia more visible at an international level; to sustain and consolidate the traditional Balkan music scene in the city and the interaction between the local population and the Balkan communities; to exchange artistic proposals with events similar to Balkabarna and to reinforce the historical tie existing between Barcelona and the Balkans. Our selection of artists has always been thought to offer a journey through time and space across the various regions and Balkan traditions.
