BandFest

The wheel of the year has turned and with the warmer rays of the sun, the streets, squares and parks of Kaunas are flooded with music. With the warmth of spring comes the frenzied BandFest festival. This year, the sounds of wind instruments will lure Kaunas and city guests to the streets again. Every phenomenon has its own story, and what do the pages of BandFest tell? BandFest is being held for the fourth time this year, but we can safely consider its predecessor the festival "Padūduokim Kaunui" that appeared in 2002, the initiator of which is the Kaunas Wind Instrument Orchestra "Ėuolynas". In 2021, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the said orchestra, "Let's go to Kaunas" was reborn under a new name, BandFest. Ten wind instrument orchestras from all over Lithuania, a jazz orchestra, soloists, dancers, the sound of Lithuanian folk instruments - we will celebrate spring with such a diverse and rich bouquet, we will celebrate the Kaunas birthday marathon and the Yard Festival. BandFest continues the traditions of wind genres, follows global trends and renewal processes of wind instruments. For this purpose, every year the wind band gathers and the one who controls the wind instrument or the whole orchestra reigns.
