We are an association - the Center for the Development of Circus Art "Ludifico", which has been active on the cultural and artistic scene for more than 15 years.Through education, international cooperation, productions and co-productions, we try to lay the foundations for the development and affirmation of circus art in Serbia.However, although we have gained a certain number of loyal audiences over many years of work and the interest in the programs in our organization is always high, unfortunately, circus art is still largely unknown in these areas and is not sufficiently developed and represented.From the desire to change this situation, the idea was born to organize the CIRKUS DANAS festival, which would present circus art in the best light to the public. Everywhere in the world, the circus has a past, present and future, except here; so the very name of the festival reflects the state of this art in Serbia and draws the public's attention to its position.During the 4 days of the festival, the audience will be able to watch circus performances (domestic and foreign productions), participate in circus workshops and forums where the position of circus art in our country will be discussed, but also hear examples of good practice of circus functioning in European countries.The festival would significantly contribute to the development of circus art, make it more visible; opened the question of its meaning; and highlighted its marginalized position in Serbia, but also provided an opportunity to educate the audience about what the circus actually is.Organizing the festival is also important for the whole community, because it will contribute to the development of the local art scene (it will provide a chance for local artists to present their work to the public; enable young artists and children from the Circoneo circus school to learn and upgrade their knowledge from more experienced colleagues from the local and foreign ) which will result in new domestic productions and thus raise the quality of the city's cultural offer. The diverse and innovative program of the festival will attract the attention of the existing audience, but will significantly influence the formation of a new audience that is open to accepting new trends in art. Also, organizing circus workshops for beginners will open the possibility for development and education of new circus artists, which is significant for the development of the local circus scene.All fellow citizens are welcome, as an audience at performances, but also as participants in workshops and forums. CIRKUS DANAS festival will be held in SKCNS Fabrika from May 17. until May 20, 2024Festival program:Local productions:• Open stage - a place for individual points of local artists• The play "At the Circus View" - co-production of Creative Pogon and Hartefakt Foundation.Regional productions:• 40-60- Ana Monroe Slovenia and Cirkusfera BelgradeInternational productions:• Performance "Submerged voice" - Spain.• The play "Croute" produced by the company "De Fracto" from France - as part of the Circus=art project supported by the French Embassy in Belgrade and the Teatroscope program of the French InstituteInternational projects:• Presentation of the Circus in Space project• Presentation of the three-week artistic residency of the Beta circus projectPublic forums (topics):• Funding opportunities for independent performing artists in Serbia• Circus as an optional subject in schools (an example of good practice in France)Circus workshops: (circus balance, acrobatics and juggling workshops). These workshops are intended for beginners, fellow citizens aged 15+ and will be held continuously throughout the duration of the festival.
