Live Art for Kids
Live Art for Children 2025 has the theme of sport and games and takes place at and in collaboration with the Danish football club SKJOLD FC (playing in the Danish 2.divison), and it´s art gallery SKJOLD CONTEMPORARY. The festival presents two new names every weekend, with sports like tennis, fishing, football and many other presenting as a game for participation for children and their parents.
The artists are: Ahilan Ratnamohan (Belgium), Walker Tufts (US), Anabela Veloso (PT), Harold Hejazi (FI/CA), Andreas Liebmann (CH), Henrik Vestergaard (DK), Yi Ten (E), Qwerty (DK), Knud Pedersen (DK), Seimi Nørregaard (DK).
“Children are natural explorers of the everyday, and that is what live art does too (…) live art initiatives that involve children as co-creators don’t just educate kids, but treat them as co-researchers with as much – perhaps more – to contribute as the adults.” (Lyn Gardner, The Guardian)Live art, presented by the artists themselves, engages the children directly in projects and investigations of the world. Children are born explorers, questioning and investigating everything from the laws of nature to moral codes. Many artists in the live art for kids festivals seem to identify with this, and create works that invite children to challenge and change real structures and relationships under the pretext of play.
