Every year the festival Macerata recounts a theme of great relevance and invites poets and writers, artists and journalists of international renown to discuss it publicly. The city, in the days of the festival, opens its wonderful old town with its theatres, museums, art galleries and libraries to the thousands of people attending the events for free.
