Salerno Letteratura

15 Jun 2019 - 23 Jun 2019
Salerno, Italy

Salerno Letteratura merges literature, poetry, theatre and music in a 9days long festival that takes place in Salerno, in june. From morning to night almost 200 writers, poets, musicians and performers will entertain the visiting public, morover there will be daily sessions dedicated to childrens and a morning summerschool for teenagers. The festival also offers internship programs for undergraduates and training opportunities for the students of the local University.

This of 2019 will be the 7th edition of the festival - a very special one because will host events from other 4 European Festivals, our partners in an Erasmus+ project called ECIC - European Communities for Inclusive Culture, focused on developing cultural contents dedicated to poorly educated adults. Finally, every year the festival awards a Literary Prize to young European writers called "Premio Salerno Libro d'Europa" - the 2019 finalists are three women: Kaouther Adimi (France), Golnaz Hashemzadeh Bonde (Sweden) and Dawn O'Porter (UK). They will all be in Salerno for a couple of days to meet the public and the jury that will finally nominate the winner in a public ceremony.

Salerno Letteratura is the lead partner of the Southern Italy's Festival Network and realizes several "off festival" events during the year.
