Sing in Split festival
The international song festival SING(in)SPLIT is the first initiative of its kind in Split (Croatia), which aims to gather, monitor, host and document different sung idioms: traditional, classical and contemporary sung achievements. The first edition of the Festival was realised in June 2018, and during the four festival days, the people of Split and numerous visitors to the city could enjoy the performances of choirs, ensembles, klapas, folk singers and Croatian soloists. Successful performances continued for a number of years, and this year the festival celebrated its 7th anniversary and lasted from Oct 19th until Oct 29th. This year's festival, organised by Schola cantorum Split and Camerata Vocale Split, started with the traditional Spli’ski klaparel in co-organisation with the Ventula klapa. This was followed by performances by Musica Vocale Wageningen in Zadar and Split, and the final evening of the festival was hosted by Panda Van Proosdij (Netherlands) and her workshop Voice and Physique: a new approach to the choir movement. Entrance to all events was free. The importance of this festival has been recognised by numerous state, county and city organisations that sponsor it.
