20 years of Tamburi Mundi Festival!

The Tamburi Mundi Festival under the direction of Murat Coşkun celebrates its 20th festival edition and once again makes South Baden the hub for frame drum music. International frame drum artists, festival visitors from all over the world and renowned instrument makers will come together. Together with regional musicians and a great audience, an inimitable festival will be celebrated - characterised for 11 days by top-class percussion music, respectful cultural exchange and creative togetherness

For the anniversary, can look forward to visitors once again a special line-up with many concert projects that can only be experienced for and at Tamburi Mundi. For example, the 6-piece women's ensemble "Drums`n`Voices" on 24.04. with musicians from Italy, Poland, Germany, Spain and Iran. The traditional Tamburi Special evening on April 26, where all the involved in the festival will percussionists storm the E-Werk stage in ever-changing formations. A brilliant closing concert on April 27, which will bring Glen Velez and other renowned frame drummers to the stage together with a string orchestra.

According to festival director Coşkun, working with young talent and regional collaborations are important pillars of the festival program alongside the meeting of international frame drum greats.

Artist in Residence 2025 is the Polish percussionist Michał Pȩkosz, who with presents a modern vision of traditional Polish music " (20.04.)"Muzyka Polska. The federal youth percussion ensemble "bundesbeat" showcases young talents who, together with Tamburi Mundi artists, build a bridge between classical percussion repertoire and frame drums (19.04.). World percussion fans can look forward to a very special birthday edition with concerts, workshops, sessions, a Tamburi Mundi documentary and action for children and families. With a mixture of first-class music, a varied program and the idyllic location near the Black Forest and the border triangle, the create a Tamburi Mundi Festival will once again on its new date at Easter vacation feeling with top-class input . Advance sales for workshops and concerts have started: The Festival Pass allows a free choice of courses from Tuesday-Sunday, and special Easter offers also such as an ensemble course (18-20 April) or Glen Velez Intensive (21 April) are very popular and - in combination with an attractive concert program - are ideal for a short trip to Freiburg.
