Ukrainian Playback Festival 2024

We are gathering a tribe of Ukrainian playbackers! Neither a pandemic nor a full-scale invasion can prevent this. Because the power of our hearts attracts people across time and space. In a thousand-year-old tradition at the beginning of summer, playbackers come together to Act, Unite and Heal. Each of us in our cities continues to maintain warmth in communities and ask the same question: "Who has a story?" The Ukrainian Playback Festival is an event where we can draw strength, exchange experience, learn, communicate, get to know each other and be inspired.

This year the theme of the festival is "Eternity". It is a combination of two complementary opposites - the Eternal and the Persistent. Eternal in playback is Earth, law, principle, base, learning, ritual, forms. Fluid is Air, process, research, flow, spontaneity, movement. And between the Eternal and the Perpetual, the Other arises. This is fire. And it is associated with challenge, experimentation, the unknown and new action. And water will be our feelings in contact with each other and the Eternal.

UPF-2024 will take place in the village of Slavsko, Lviv region, Ukraine from 6 to 9 June 2024. The festival is intended for playback practitioners, for those who are starting their journey in the playback theatre, for those who have heard something about this method and want to get to know it better, for Ukrainian playbacks who left and stayed, for playback friends and viewers, for participants and activists looking for a new method to unite and heal people, for every Ukrainian man and woman looking for a resourceful community and inspiration.
