The New Cinema

By promoting the idea of ​​digital cinema, the Festival defines and promotes the concept of New Cinema and is the only Festival in Greece and one of the few in Europe to embrace all kinds of Cinema Art.

The 10th Athens International Digital Film Festival AIDFF spreads its wings over the city of Athens, filling the city with images, sounds, music, dialogues and offering the joy that comes with art. Visitors will enjoy the festive atmosphere that AIDFF films create as the festival celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

The Athens International Digital Film Festival AIDFF will open its gates for the 10th consecutive year, thus renewing its appointment with the public and the creators through daily screenings, special tributes and a variety of parallel events. Following the health guidelines the 10th Anniversary Festival will be held from December 9-15 at the Historical Cinema Studio, Stavropoulou 33 and at the BlackBox Theater Cinema Bousgou 22B.

We are happy to welcome 120 films with 80 premieres included from 35 countries in all categories of NEW CINEMA, Fiction, feature and short documentaries, Young Directors, experimental, animation video art, video dance. The festival will screen films from various countries around the world, achieving multicultural plurality. The audience will have the opportunity to enjoy different cultures in different landscapes, cultural references, special memory trips, ecological awareness, with social references to the past, to the present and to the future.

The festival hosts hundreds of films from around the world each year, including a significant amount of premieres, aiming to promote contemporary cinema and the continuous development of a platform for dialogue between creators and the public. Furthermore, it organizes and hosts important thematic TRIBUTES, in the context of its creative parallel events.

The Festival, promoting the idea of ​​digital cinema, defined and promoted the concept of New Cinema. It is the only festival in Greece and one of the few in Europe that has embraced all kinds of cinematic art. Designing its identity in detail it managed to become a favorite destination for filmmakers around the world, during these years. So, within this condition, a new generation of creators with open horizons and without dividing lines, is constantly emerging.
