20 Black & White International Theatre Festival

Since its inception in 2004, the Black & White Theatre has been one of the driving forces behind Southeast Finland's most prominent cultural event. This theatrical extravaganza in Imatra has been responsible for producing over 20 plays and a feature film, both independently and in collaboration with other esteemed theaters.The Black & White Theatre Festival has firmly established its presence in the Finnish cultural landscape and its enduring spot on the summer event calendar for the past 19 years. In recent times, the festival has consistently taken place at the end of July. In celebration of this momentous 20th anniversary, we have meticulously curated a spectacular festival program, spanning both indoor and outdoor performances. The festival will attract theatre professionals from around the globe, promising a diverse showcase of theatrical genres, including drama, dance, physical theatre, circus acts, puppetry, captivating street performances, live musicians, and cinematic presentations for the upcoming year.The anniversary year's festival promises to encapsulate the essence of international theater in all its myriad forms.
