The Marionetas na Cidade festival had its first edition in 1998 and is known as the national puppet festival due to its program featuring mostly national productions, both from established companies and a strong demand for emerging projects. All activities revolve around the theme of puppetry, thus highlighting this art form from tradition to contemporary times.
