31st Internacional Piano Festival SIPO

The Óbidos International Piano Festival returns between June 26 and August 4 with great names in piano and world premieres. The Gulbenkian Orchestra and Boris Berman open the 31st edition of SIPO, which reaffirms itself as one of the most important events dedicated to the piano in Portugal. Between Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha and Lisbon, the festival brings together recitals, masterclasses, conferences, exhibitions and world premieres, in a program that crosses tradition, discovery and artistic excellence. The event is promoted by ACIM – Association of International Music Courses, reaffirming its role as a national and international reference in piano training and performance. Under the artistic direction of pianist Manuela Gouveia, founder of the initiative and an unavoidable figure in music pedagogy and programming in Portugal, the festival returns to Óbidos, Caldas da Rainha and Lisbon, bringing together established artists, young performers and multidisciplinary proposals that expand the universe of the piano beyond the traditional recital.

The educational aspect remains at the heart of SIPO's identity, through masterclasses and concerts by participants and laureates. The SIPO 2026 Participants' Concert – ACIM/Antena 2 Award, on August 2nd, and the concerts by laureates from the previous edition, presented in Lisbon, Óbidos and Caldas da Rainha, underline the festival's continued commitment to artistic development and the promotion of new generations of performers. With a single ticket price of 15 euros for the concerts, the Óbidos International Piano Week once again celebrates the piano as a meeting point between tradition and contemporaneity, consolidating itself as one of the most important cultural events of the Portuguese summer.
