45 International Chamber Music Week

Since the summer of 1981, the municipality of Montserrat, led by its City Council, has continuously organized musical performances within what we call the International Chamber Music Week (SIMC).Through the SIMC, the municipality has intended that these concert cycles serve our society, where musical culture is so deeply rooted, to disseminate, understand, and promote other types of music, such as chamber music (from the Renaissance to the present day), which is somewhat less well-known and alien to our culture. It also includes contemporary music, jazz, etc., and opera, which until then had been largely unknown within the music world for many of us.It is an event that promotes cultural tourism, with aspirations of internationalization. Proof of this is the fact that it received the seal of the European Festival Association, EFFE (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe), in 2017-2018. EFFE is a European Commission pilot project, a European platform for cultural festivals initiated by the European Festivals Association (EFA).The International Chamber Music Week is now part of the EFFE festival community, facilitated by the European Festivals Association, which consists of festivals that represent artistic quality and have a significant impact at the local, national, and international levels.Our Festival received the following comment from the jury:"The Festival is a small, straightforward festival. The jury suggests working on international and European engagement not only by inviting international artists but also by reaching out to international networks or similar festivals."
