6th International Two Sides of the Coast Culture Festival

The International Two Sides of the Coast Culture Festival is an annual celebration of the shared cultural heritage of the Aegean, jointly organised by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality and Bodrum Municipality. Bringing together communities from both sides of the Aegean Sea, the festival promotes intercultural dialogue, strengthens local diplomacy, and fosters lasting cooperation between Türkiye and Greece. Now in its sixth edition, the festival has established itself as a sustainable cultural initiative celebrating cultural diversity, mutual understanding, friendship, peace, and cultural solidarity. By bringing together municipal representatives, artists, musicians, and folk dance groups from both Türkiye and Greece, it has become an important international platform for cultural exchange and cross-border cooperation.

The festival offers a rich programme of concerts, traditional music and folk dance performances, exhibitions, gastronomy events, workshops, and cultural talks. Its multidisciplinary programme combines music, dance, gastronomy, visual arts, and dialogue, creating opportunities for artists, local communities, and visitors to experience the diverse traditions of the region. Organised in open public spaces with free access, the festival promotes cultural accessibility, inclusiveness, and active community participation.

Each year, municipal representatives and cultural delegations from the neighbouring Greek islands—including Kos, Nisyros, Patmos, Lipsi, Leros, and Kalymnos—join the festival, reinforcing the bonds that unite the two shores. By celebrating a common cultural identity, the festival highlights the Aegean Sea not as a border, but as a bridge connecting people, traditions, and communities.
