Aeschylia Festival 2022

The journey of Aeschylia, the leading cultural institution of Eleusis, started at the "dawn" of the political changeover. A chronological juncture, the completion of 2500 years since the birth of the great Eleusinian tragic poet Aeschylus, gives the birth of the institution. The Modern industrial city of Elefsina, thus acquires a significant cultural institution that connects with the glorious historical past and also gives an outlook for a more promising future.

From the first year the Aeschylia festival succeeded to bridge the historical memory with the present time, by leaning both on the cultural heritage and contemporary artistic creation. With a clear vision and steady steps, not only the festival raised the intellectual level of the city, but managed to emerge immediately into one of the leading cultural festivals in the entire country.

The Aeschylia in its years of rich cultural life, hosted important personalities from the fields of literature, arts and politics, a vast audience of Eleusinian spectators and visitors from all over the country, honored by the presence the numerous events.

A multidimensional festival, full of theatrical and dance performances, concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, scientific meetings, tributes and events unfolding year by year it's specific and varied aspects and invites the viewer to become a modern intellectual of art and speech.
