Amposta International Theater and Circus Festival

The International Theater and Circus Festival of Amposta is a publicly owned performing arts festival.

The festicAM is a cultural and artistic proposal, which was born in 2013 from the EtcA organized jointly with the Ajuntament d'Amposta, which takes place in the capital of Montsià, in the heart of Delta de l'Ebre, with the aim of promoting the city as a point of reference for the circus, physical theater and performing arts in the Terres de l'Ebre, turning it into a showcase and display of different proposals and projects of live arts from around the world.

The bet for this project is a bet to promote culture and live arts in the territory of the Terres de l'Ebre, to be a nexus of rapprochement and echo towards the south, in which shows will share the spotlight, on the one hand of companies in which there is a clear vocation to bring languages together and make innovative contributions in these fields, placing emphasis on street arts and, on the other hand, creations born from performing arts schools of throughout Catalonia. For this reason, the International Festival of Theater and Circus -festicAM-, is a show and also a space for relationship and dialogue, research, exchange and rapprochement.

festicAM is a member of the Catalunya Street Arts Platform which brings together under one roof the festivals, fairs and exhibitions that have street arts as the main driver of their programming.

festicAM is a member of Redescena (Spanish Network of Publicly Owned Theatres, Auditoriums, Circuits and Festivals) whose mission is to promote the performing arts and music sector, making it more accessible to the entire population. We work on the consolidation of public exhibition and production structures, guaranteeing a quality, plural and diverse scenic offer.

Redescena is also a member of the IETM-International Network for Contemporary Performing Arts, an organization whose aim is to promote the development of the performing arts in a global environment and to value the role of these as a pillar of social, cultural and economic development.

festicAM has received the EFFE label, Europe's quality label for notable arts festivals that demonstrate their commitment to the arts, community participation and international openness.

It is part of Circus Talk, an international global mapping platform for circus arts professionals.

The festicAM is an accomplice space of the Traffic for the Creation project of the Central del Circ, of the Support for the Creation Program of Fira Tàrrega and co-produces shows with Lo Pati - Center d'Art de les Terres de l'Ebre with the complicity of the APCC (Association of Circus Professionals of Catalonia), of the AADPC (Association of Professional Actors and Directors of Catalonia) and of the APDC (Association of Dance Professionals of Catalonia).

The festicAM is an initiative of the Amposta School of Theater and Circus, co-organized with the Amposta Town Council with the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the Generalitat of Catalonia and the Provincial Council of Tarragona.
