Art and Politics

The first Sarajevo Fest – Arts and Politics that took place in December 2019 in Sarajevo, Banja Luka and Mostar, was a big success. It went even better than expected. The audiences, guests, artists, intellectuals and media welcomed the festival of this type, the first of the kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, enthusiastically. Shortly after our Festival the world got engulfed by the pandemics. The big and small countries alike were taken aback by the intensity of the pandemic. Shortly after the outbreak of the pandemic in the USA, the police brutality and the death of George Floyd, initiated the massive demonstrations of the Black Lives Matter movement that spilled over to Europe too. The ongoing authoritarian politics; political show by the ethic oligarchies and corruption have used the pandemics to deepen chaos and to prevent any progress in the Balkans.

2021 Sarajevo Fest Arts & Politics Program

The themes of this year's edition of Sarajevo Fest are Digital Future; Digital Society and Digital Art.

Within the topic Digital Future, we pan the following discussions: Hybrid Life; Digital fraud; Digital Depression and Digital Political Influence.

Within the topic Digital Society, we will talk about The Age of Great Change; The Right to Happiness; Where is Generation 91-95 now ?; Humor as a Way of Social understanding; Balkan Feminism, then and now.
