ArtWalk

Inspired by the dynamic of graffiti/street art and the works that were implemented in recent years on the walls of our cities, we as Art in Progress are preparing in the city of Patras, the fourth edition of the Street Art Festival of Patras/ArtWalk in the months of May – June 2019. The previous three editions of the festival have accomplished -with great success- to mobilize the citizens of the city and "cultivate" in their minds the aesthetics and culture of Street Art. As a result the festival and its murals have been embraced by the public in an unprecedented rate, because it continues to create a sense of euphoria and optimism to them, for the future image of their city.The ArtWalk has been constituted as one of the most prominent international festivals in Greece with astonishing international exposure for the national standards.

Citizens provide their walls; Art in Progress organizes the scaffolding and bucket trucks, gives colors to the graffiti artists, the writers, street artists and the crews and invites them to write, to spray, to smudge and to draw freely by filling the city with questions, images, thoughts and challenges.

The main goal of the festival is to change the city and transform it in an open “museum”. We believe that in order to create a diverse environment we need a plethora of different opinions and perspectives. Therefore we always try to include, invite and collaborate with artists whose work we admire, regardless of their gender, nationality or origin.
