Baroque Festival Alessandro Stradella of Viterbo and Nepi

The FESTIVAL BAROCCO ALESSANDRO STRADELLA carries out research, training, production, diffusion and musical edition. A cultural project that looks to the future by combining the attention to the immense Italian heritage and the enhancement of new languages and trends, encouraging the approach and awareness of young people to baroque and contemporary language through the practice of improvisation.

The 2019 edition, which will take place from August 31st to September 22nd 2019 will have many highlits: the opening concert will feature the premiere of Alessandro Stradella's opera IL TRESPOLO TUTORE with the Ensemble Mare Nostrum and a great cast, directed by Andrea De Carlo, on September 10 IMAGINARIUM ENSEMBLE and Enrico Onofri will delight the audience with their recital IN THE NATURE, on September 22 Emoke Barath and Il Pomo D’ Oro Orchestra will close the season with a program dedicated to Barbara Strozzi.

The festival will host many great soloist in the baroque scene as Hille Perl with a charming gamba and lute recital on September 7 and Giulia Nuti with a solo harpsichord recital on September 5.

Many will be the young ensembles that will hold concerts also during the FRINGE CONCERT SERIES and in beautiful locations, such as the evocative Farnese Scuderie di Caprarola, where the Ensemble in residence Stradella Y-Project will realize an unknown opera by Alessandro Stradella: Amare & Fingere.

Particular attention will also be paid to the dialogue with contemporary music, hosting magnetic artists such as Daniele Roccato and his Ludus Gravis Ensemble, with a program entirely dedicated to the Gesualdo Da Venosa 's madrigals.
