BUZZCUT Festival

Between 2012 - 2017, //BUZZCUT// ran a pay-what-you-can performance festival across the bars, galleries, shops and community centres across Glasgow. Founded with no funding, the festival was completely DIY and championed the values of grassroots community support, aiming to create a welcoming, friendly place for artists making raw and challenging work to experiment, and take genuine risks with their practices, and for audiences to encounter new forms and ideas in a supportive risk-embracing environment.
After a 6 year hiatus, the Festival will return, bringing together 27 artists in a temporary artistic community, sharing fresh performance experiments in a supportive space, and taking over the city for 5 days. With intimate one-on-one encounters, participatory stage rituals, durational actions and more, BUZZCUT Festival centres performance practises on the margins.
This year's programme has been guest curated by FK Alexander & Jamila Johnson-Small (SERAFINE 1369)
The programme was announced in January 2023.
