Bábkarská Bystrica is a platform for contemporary (non-)puppetry, uniting professional artists from all around the world. It is the only one international festival of puppetry in Slovakia and one of the most renowned ones. It creates space where professional art meets the public (performances for audiences of all ages, from toddlers to seniors). Our production for children follows non-commercial and unconventional trends, while the goal of our selection for adults is to emancipate adult puppetry. The next annual festival is set to take place in autumn 2022. During the festival, various paratheatrical activities will take place, including workshops, discussions, and the professional conference Theatre Education, which is primarily concerned with connecting theatre to the teaching of aesthetics and sociology .
