At Båstad Kammarmusikfestival (the Båstad Chamber Music Festival), you will have the chance to do just that.Join us on a journey into the world of illusions — mostly wonderful, but sometimes terrifying. With the help of nearly 50 musicians and 40 composers, you'll be invited to challenge your perceptions of reality’s very foundations. Do you dare? Of course you do! Messiaen Quartet Copenhagen... are once again taking on this crucial role, for the second year in a row, and will be present in Båstad throughout the festival week. This outstanding ensemble consists of Malin William-Olsson (violin), Kristoffer Hyldig (piano), Cansın Kara (cello), and Viktor Wennesz (clarinet). COMPOSER-IN-RESIDENCE OF THE YEAR:
Britta Byström... was our composer-in-residence already back in 2007. Since then, she has had a fascinating journey and is now clearly an internationally acclaimed composer. We look forward to welcoming her back to Båstad this summer. MASTER CLASSES In addition to a full programme of concerts we continue our tradition of offering Master Classes in collaboration with Malmö Academy of Music and Musik i Syd. This year includes a Master Class in Composition, and a Master Class for Strings, which will conclude with a public concert.
