"Christos Diamantis" Choral Festival

01 Nov 2026
Karditsa, Greece

The “Parenthesis” Mixed Choir of Karditsa organizes the “Christos Diamantis” Choral Festival, dedicated to the memory of the musician and poet. Christos Diamantis, who passed away at an early age, was one of the first members of the choir who believed in the need to establish the ensemble. The choir’s name, “Parenthesis,” derives from the symbol of parentheses, as reflected in his lyrics. A symbol that creates space for thought, interpretation, emotion, and perspective. Parentheses are used in this way in both his poetry and his music. In his memory, the symbol of parentheses is embraced, evoking the following verse of his: “...here lies the fundamental difference between stillness and movement (within time)...”

The Festival is held annually in the city of Karditsa, while every other year it seeks to innovate by combining the educational role of the choir with artistic expression and creativity, inviting renowned conductors to participate. Its aim is to introduce outstanding choral ensembles to the public and engage with them through the work of Christos Diamantis, jointly performing his compositions in their world premieres.
