CIRKL 2027: 10 Years of Contemporary Circus in Leuven In 2027, CIRKL Festival is turning 10 years old! What started a decade ago has become Leuven’s big annual three-day circus festival. For this 10th edition, we are bringing around 45 shows by 20 groups from 9 different countries. Best of all, at least half of the performances are completely free. CIRKL brings together more than 12,000 visitors each year — from local families and circus fans to international professionals. It is a moment to celebrate ten great years and look ahead to what is next. Shows for Everyone CIRKL 2027 shows how exciting circus can be today. The program offers a mix of fun, easy-to-watch shows for broad audiences alongside creative, experimental pieces that try new things. You will find performances inside, outside on the streets, and in unexpected spots all over the city. Supporting New Talent Helping artists grow is at the heart of CIRKL. The festival gives performers a chance to try out brand-new ideas in front of a live audience. Plus, the stage run by Cirkus in Beweging gives young and up-and-coming circus groups a platform to show what they can do. A Place to Meet CIRKL is a cozy meeting point for the circus world. Artists, organizers, and fan groups gather here to talk, share ideas, and inspire one another. Together with partners like Circuscentrum, we host discussions on how to make circus better, fairer, and more open to everyone. Open to All We want everyone to feel welcome at CIRKL. By keeping half the program free, using the UiTPAS discount system, and working with local social groups, we make sure anyone can enjoy the festival. Different stories and styles mean there is something for everyone. Leuven is Our Stage Leuven is not just where CIRKL happens — the city is part of the festival.
