Culturescapes 2025 Sahara
After 2023, Culturescapes will deepen its focus on the Sahara from the 9.10.-29.11.2025. After the first Sahara edition was primarily dedicated to the sub-Sahara, the 2025 festival will look more closely at North Africa, which maintains close political relations with Switzerland - for example in so-called migration dialogues, where the main issues are repatriation, border security and development cooperation. As the Sahara is often overlooked or ignored in our Eurocentric perspective and is reduced to statistics, poverty and war, whilste many historical and current connections exist, Culturescapes has decided to deepen its focus for the first time. On October 9, we will start with a four-day opening at the Kaserne, and on November 29, the festival will end with a performance marathon at the Museum Tinguely.
