EFFIR 2027
EFFIR returns for its 11th edition, bringing three days of independent music, art, creativity and community to the small village of Borkhult in the Swedish countryside.
Since its beginnings in 2017, EFFIR has grown into a distinctive gathering for adventurous audiences, emerging artists and independent cultural initiatives. Rooted in DIY culture and organised entirely by a non-profit association, the festival offers an alternative to commercial music festivals, prioritising artistic freedom, experimentation, accessibility and genuine encounters between people. The 2027 edition will feature an eclectic programme of live music, performances, art installations, workshops and collaborative activities. Moving freely between experimental sounds, underground music, electronic explorations, folk traditions and genre-defying performances, EFFIR celebrates artistic expression beyond conventional boundaries. More than a music festival, EFFIR is a temporary community where artists and visitors meet on equal terms.
The intimate rural setting, surrounded by forests, historic buildings and nature, creates space for discovery, spontaneous collaborations, conversations and shared experiences. International cultural exchange remains an important part of EFFIR's identity. Through collaborations with independent festivals and grassroots organisations across the Nordic and Baltic countries, EFFIR works to strengthen networks, support emerging artists and develop sustainable alternatives for independent cultural production. The festival is built on volunteer engagement, collective responsibility and a commitment to keeping culture accessible. Sustainability, inclusivity and local involvement shape both the programme and the way the festival is organised.
For its 11th edition, EFFIR continues to explore how a small, independently organised festival can create meaningful connections between music, people and place. The full 2027 artist lineup and programme will be announced closer to the festival.
