euro-scene Leipzig
Euro-scene Leipzig is a renowned dance and theatre festival that takes place every year in early November in Leipzig. International guest performances - including world premieres, European premieres, and co-productions - explore social issues and encourage dialogue, complemented by discussions, workshops, and films. With a focus on the Canadian province of Québec, this year’s euro-scene Leipzig turns its attention to one of the most fascinating dance scenes in the world. Influences from hip-hop, street, and club cultures add another dimension to the festival. Dance forms such as breaking, Afro-house, and waacking have had a lasting impact on contemporary dance, and what began on streets, in squares, and in clubs has long since conquered the theatre stage. This development is more evident than ever in the festival program. In addition, euro-scene Leipzig 2026 is dedicated to the theme of “home”: several plays explore various facets of identity and belonging.
