Festival A Estrada
A program based on the relationship between contemporary artistic proposals and local cultural specificity, crossing paths for the improvement and dynamization of an entire region's cultural offer.
The Festival takes place in between the village of São Francisco da Serra and the Santo André beach, along one of the most beautiful roads in the Portuguese South West Coast, connecting Serra de São Francisco to the Atlantic Ocean, down the hills, through the cork tree forest with the sea in the background.
Along four different stages - Serra Stage, Road Stage, Lagoon Stage and the Beach Stage – integrated with the natural environment of the places inhabited by the daily life of the local community, but also placed in more unexpected locations, the festival programs musical acts, cinema, theatre and artistic installations, complemented with gastronomy, visits to local places of interest, walks in the nature and conversations between all the participants and special guests, about the territory, culture, art, tradition and contemporaneity.
