Festival Camerata Figarella - VIIIe

18 Sep 2026 - 29 Sep 2026
Santa Maria di Lota, France

8th Edition of the Camerata Figarella FestivalBetween Memory and Creation – The Voices of the WorldFor eight years now, every summer, Camerata Figarella has filled the villages of Corsica with music. Like a court of musicians in a kingdom without king or castle, it gathers in Figarella — a small village in Cap Corse — artists from across the island, the Mediterranean, and Europe. Together, they share one passion: to make worlds, eras, and traditions speak to one another through music.Founded in 2019, Camerata Figarella was born from the desire to unite classical, chamber, and traditional music within a shared space of creation, exchange, and transmission. The festival has become a unique cultural event in Corsica — rooted in rural life, attentive to the beauty of its landscapes, and to the vitality of those who inhabit them. From Figarella to Corte, from Bastia to Balagne, concerts take place in churches, courtyards, convents, and gardens, each encounter offering a new setting where the landscape itself becomes part of the music. This eighth edition continues the path begun seven years ago: weaving links between ancient and contemporary worlds, between scholarly music and oral traditions. The festival celebrates the diversity of musical languages and artistic forms, while revealing what connects them — emotion, memory, joy, the sacred, and the spirit of sharing. This year, Camerata Figarella expands its artistic dialogue even further, welcoming dance and theatre, so that body and voice may accompany music’s poetic movement.Faithful to its mission of transmission, the Camerata also develops an ambitious educational program. Throughout the year, school workshops, classroom visits, and encounters with musicians invite children and young audiences to experience music directly — to listen, explore, and sometimes even play. These projects make the festival a space of learning, discovery, and imagination, where creation and pedagogy meet in harmony.Over the years, Camerata Figarella has become far more than a festival: it is a laboratory of dialogue and transmission, a place where art connects generations and cultures. In Figarella, music is not mere ornament — it is a common language, a living bridge between past and present, between Corsica and the wider world. It is within this balance — fragile, human, and ever-renewed — that Camerata Figarella finds its strength and its future.
