Festival Internacional de Música de Ourense "Pórtico do Paraíso"

Ourense International Music Festival Portico do Paraíso was born in February 2008 in an attempt to fill a void in the musical life of the city. It was intended to offer the audience the opportunity to listen to top level worlwide renowned soloists and ensembles in the best buildings of Ourense architectural heritage.

The Cathedral, whose porch names the Festival, has a special role because it is where the festival opens every edition with a sacred music concert. The festival programs music from any period, from medieval to contemporary.

There are also two concerts in the region and sometimes there are exhibitions, lectures and meetings with the musicians as well.
