Festival Teatro Gorrilla, Teis edition
Festival Teatro Gorrilla is preparing a very special edition in the neighborhood of Teis, transforming its streets, squares, and corners into a large stage open to the public. For three days of free celebration, dance, theater, circus, and performance will take over public spaces, bringing culture closer to residents and visitors alike.The festival promotes a festive, diverse, and inclusive atmosphere, with a program designed for all ages: creative workshops for children and teenagers, a market of crafts and local products, and a lineup of outdoor performances that will encourage participation and collective enjoyment.With this edition in Teis, the festival aims to bring the performing arts into the daily life of the neighborhood, fostering coexistence, connection, and the cultural vitality of Vigo from the streets.
The festival aspires to be a catalyst for meaningful artistic experiences within Vigo’s cultural fabric, responding to the need for spaces that go beyond mere exhibition and that foster a vital connection between creators and the community. The festival is born from the conviction that performing arts have the power to transform and enrich people’s lives, especially when brought into new contexts and to new audiences.
The three day festival is designed to offer a diverse and complete experience, aimed at different audiences and culminating in a celebration open to the community. The daily schedule is as follows:Friday: Training and Professional Encounter Day.This day will be dedicated to workshops in educational centers (schools and high schools) during the morning, providing students with a first contact with the performing arts through a circus workshop for children. In the afternoon, two specific workshops will be offered for different audiences:- For seniors: a course on “shared poetic ground”, exploring Jacques Lecoq’s methodology to discover the poetic substratum that unites us through gestural theatre work based on colors, elements, and objects.- For professionals and performing arts students: a course on “movement languages”, focused on translating comic book and cinema narratives into the stage of physical theatre, with special attention to physical comedy.Saturday: ETEA Walk.On Saturday, ETEA will be transformed into a stage with performances from different disciplines:Davide González: will present a street theatre proposal.Peter Punk: will offer a show designed for children and family audiences, ensuring an intergenerational approach to the festival.Nauta: will bring itinerant street interventions that will energize the space and interact with the audience.Drauma: will perform a piece that fuses theatre and dance, exploring new scenic languages.Students from Friday’s workshops are especially invited to attend these performances as spectators. The day will close with a DJ set to create a festive and social atmosphere.
Sunday: Riouxa Park.The park will become the epicenter of a day of celebration open to the community, combining performances with an artistic and craft market featuring local creators:Suma Circo Danza: will bring the spectacle of contemporary circus fused with dance.Indignati: will offer a fun and participatory commedia dell’arte performance.SÖA: will present a clown-dance piece for all audiences, characterized by its delicacy and poetic style.Nelson Quinteiro: will perform a cabaret show combined with traditional music.
This day we will include the show of the artist that will recieve the artistic residency thanks of Festival Finder in collaboration with Effea.
