Figure It Out
In honour of its 30th anniversary, Schaubude Berlin is inviting you to attend the showcase Figure It Out and presenting a diverse cross-section of contemporary figure and object theatre. Full programme here.
The invited productions for adults and children address a broad range of topics using theatre puppets, sound objects, materials, avatars or masquerade: they examine the mystical figure of undines from a queer-feminist perspective, concern themselves with the intervention of the church into the act of birth, shed light upon the postcolonial entanglements of plaster and potatoes, take a look at the world from the point of view of a bug or inquire into the weaknesses of superheroes.
The
schedule of programming will be rounded out with showings, tryouts and
smaller formats throughout the entire theatre building, encounters
between the audience and artists as well as a picnic and a party.
There
will also be the opportunity for networking, further education,
discussion and reflection over the course of the three-day exchange of
expertise that will focus on artistic research in figure and object
theatre.
Over the course of a StageJam, artists will spend a
week exploring the theatrical potential of online tools. You can find
all information about the announcement here >>>.
Interactive formats invite audience encounters and playful reflections in the foyer.
