Now in its fourth year, Foça Film Days showcases archaeology and cultural heritage not only from Foça, but from throughout Turkey and around the world. The theme of Foça Film Days for 2021 is "But is it local? Local Culture and World Heritage."

In addition to a full programme of documentary films, Foça Film Days includes talks with participating directors and archaeologists, live performances, exhibits, and tours of the local excavations and the historical town centre led by archaeologists and volunteers. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, in 2021, Foça Film Days is being planned as a hybrid event, with activities live-streamed on line as well as live and in person in Foça. These include films by local residents of Foça, Lemnos, Greece and Lefkosia, Cyprus produced as part of a "3-Festival Cultural Exchange in the Southeast Mediterranean. All activities are free and open to the public.

Foça Film Days aims to help raise awareness about the importance of heritage conservation, promote multiculturalism and inter-cultural understanding, and encourage sustainable tourism. It further aims to encourage filmmakers in documenting world heritage.
